Director of Finance

The City of Kelowna invites applications for the position of Director of Finance. Reporting to the CAO, the Director provides strategic financial leadership and oversees all aspects of the City's financial management. Responsibilities include: • Leading financial planning, budgeting, and long-range fiscal strategy for a $500M+ budget organization • Overseeing accounting, payroll, accounts payable/receivable, and treasury functions • Presenting financial reports and recommendations to council and the community • Managing relationships with external auditors, financial institutions, and provincial government • Directing a team of 25+ finance professionals The ideal candidate holds a CPA designation and brings a minimum of 8 years of senior financial management experience, ideally in local government. Experience with Municipal Finance Authority of BC borrowing and development cost charges is an asset.
