About this Role
Full-time Building Inspector Level 2 position reporting to the Chief Building Official, responsible for issuing building permits, enforcing the Ontario Building Code and municipal by-laws, conducting site inspections, investigating complaints, and providing public services in Bracebridge, Ontario.
Key Responsibilities
Enforce Ontario Building Code, review plans, conduct site inspections, and follow up for compliance
Enforce Property Standards, Zoning, Tree, Sign, Pool Enclosure and related by-laws
Investigate complaints, issue notices of noncompliance, serve summonses, prepare cases, and attend court prosecutions
Undertake sewage system inspections and assist with Septic Re-Inspection Program
Review Building Permit Applications and conduct zoning reviews to support permit issuance
Qualifications
Ontario Secondary School Diploma
Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing qualifications in General Legal/Process and House and On-Site Sewage (HVAC House and Plumbing House qualifications preferred)
Minimum two years building construction experience and municipal Building Department experience preferred
Excellent interpersonal, communication, project management, analytical and problem-solving skills
Class G Driver's License in good standing and reliable vehicle for corporate business
Position Details
