It's simple to get connected and access compensation data from countless positions and hundreds of municipalities.
About the MCD
The Ontario Municipal Administrators Association (OMAA) and MuniSERV have once again partnered to bring a new tool to municipalities. Along with support from a group of municipal USERS, we are pleased to announce, The Municipal Compensation Database (MCD).
The MCD is a platform with CAO leadership in mind, that's based on municipal Human Resources principles. It's being brought to you by organizations that know municipalities best.
“The MCD is a cloud-based platform to collect and aggregate current municipal compensation and human resources information, tailored for delivery directly to municipal users.” It also includes Council Compensation, Job Descriptions and Organizational Charts.
The MCD will revolutionize the way municipalities share and access compensation and human resources data, while supporting the province's shared servicing initiative.
Why the MCD
Quick and easy access to real-time municipal compensation data and human resources information whenever you need it
Access and update your data 24/7/365
Access to statistically valid compensation data
Enhances efficiency. Eliminates duplication
Provides measurable cost savings
Run reports of real-time data in a matter of minutes, or request other reports as needed
The Details
The built-in confidentiality and security controls let CAOs control who has access to which level of compensation information.
There are annual or multi-year subscriptions. OMAA and MuniSERV members get discounted subscription pricing. Once you access the MCD you can add your own information as changes are made to your compensation and access real-time municipal compensation data when and how you need it, right from your desktop!
More participation = Better Data

“OMAA is proud to partner with MuniSERV on this initiative and we can say our association has brought the CAO perspective forward during the design of the platform. On behalf of the OMAA Board, we encourage all Ontario CAOs to investigate and sign up for a subscription to the Municipal Compensation Database.”
— Peter Neufeld, CAO, Municipality of Leamington

We know from experience many municipalities do not have their own dedicated Human Resources professionals in-house.
Our Human Resources Advisory Services provide a solution by giving municipalities the ability to access HR professional services by the hour (“Access HR”), by the project (“Project HR”), or to engage one of our HR professionals dedicated to your municipality (“Virtual HR”) — an HR Bureau where small municipalities join together to share the service.
Like the MCD subscriptions, our HR Advisory Services are discounted for OMAA and MuniSERV members.
