Key Responsibilities
Diagnose, repair, and maintain municipal heavy-duty vehicles and equipment
Use computerized and manual testing equipment to identify mechanical faults
Adjust and replace defective parts, components, or systems
Perform routine servicing including cleaning, lubrication, and adjustments
Respond to emergency or roadside repairs on occasion
Qualifications
Chief Mechanic: Certificate of Qualification for Motor Vehicle Mechanic AND Heavy Duty Equipment Mechanic
Chief Mechanic: Ministry of Transportation Vehicle Inspector License
Chief Mechanic: Valid Class 'DZ' license required (Class 'AZ' preferred)
Chief Mechanic: Minimum 5 years progressive heavy equipment mechanics experience
Truck and Coach Technician: Certificate of Qualification for Truck and Coach Technician (310T)
