About this Role

The Finance Business Partner provides financial analysis, budgeting support, and business planning assistance to assigned departments, reporting to the Manager of Budget & Financial Planning. The role supports budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and decision-making activities across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

Support budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and financial performance monitoring for assigned departments
Prepare financial analysis, reconciliations, forecasts, and supporting documentation for operational and capital decision-making
Collaborate with departments on program-based budgeting, resource allocation, and financial planning
Monitor financial results, identify trends and variances, and provide recommendations to management
Administer budget systems, financial data, reporting structures, and models while ensuring data integrity

Qualifications

Post-secondary diploma or degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or related discipline (or equivalent education and experience combination)
Minimum 3 years experience in budgeting, accounting, financial reporting, or financial analysis
Strong working knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and Public Sector Accounting Standards (PSAS)
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with ability to communicate financial findings clearly
Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications (particularly Excel) and financial/ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics GP, FMW Web, PSD Citywide, Intelli Leisure)
