About this Role
Full-time Manager of Planning position reporting to the Director of Development Services. The role leads planning policy development, major initiatives, and development approvals for the Town of Huntsville, Ontario, while supervising the Planning Department.
Key Responsibilities
Provide professional planning advice on policy documents and projects to council, agencies, staff, public, and development industry
Develop and implement planning strategies balancing growth with environmental sustainability, economic prosperity, and community well-being
Undertake policy planning studies including Official Plan reviews, Community Planning Permit System reviews, Secondary Plans, and Heritage Conservation Plans
Prepare and present detailed reports and implementation documents to Council on policy and planning matters
Lead and mentor the Planning Department team while fostering innovation and collaboration
Qualifications
Minimum five (5) years progressive municipal work experience in a management or supervisory role
University Degree in Planning
Full membership in the Canadian Institute of Planners
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Effective business planning, computer, and decision-making skills

Full-time position
Location: Town of Huntsville, Ontario
Hours: 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday to Friday, with potential additional hours required
General office environment with potential for remote work
