About this Role

This is a seasonal 8-week student position split between two roles: Métis Narrator at Muskoka Heritage Place (up to 14 hours/week) and Project Assistant with Hope Arises Project (up to 14 hours/week). The student will deliver indigenous-focused activities and support community engagement and digital content creation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver excellent customer experience as part of a dynamic team at Muskoka Heritage Place
  • Be a representative of the Town of Huntsville's heritage hub
  • Deliver indigenous-focused activities in a factual, authentic, educational and entertaining manner through presentation, demonstration, and experiential activities
  • Support community engagement and program promotion through digital content creation and digital media
  • Support project administration with Hope Arises Project Inc.

Qualifications

  • Métis status
  • Between 15–30 years old
  • Currently in school and returning to school in the fall
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively and diplomatically with a wide range of personality types

Position Details

Total weekly hours: 28 (14 hours at each position)
Employment length: 8 weeks
Location: Muskoka Heritage Place, 88 Brunel Road, Huntsville, ON (and remote for Project Assistant role)
Work schedules may vary to accommodate weekdays, weekends, and statutory holiday shifts
Position contingent on funding by Métis Nation of Ontario
