About this Role

Full-time contract mechanic (12 months) reporting to the Supervisor of Urban Maintenance and Fleet. Responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining all Township vehicles and equipment to municipal, provincial, and federal standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain all Township vehicles and equipment
  • Complete accurate daily digital repair records, work orders, and fleet data documentation
  • Maintain shop tools, equipment, parts inventory, and work areas in safe, organized condition
  • Order parts, coordinate external vendor repairs, and perform roadside/off-site emergency repairs
  • Assist with research and testing of new fleet products, equipment, and technologies

Qualifications

  • Valid 310S Automotive Service Technician license with minimum 3 years licensed experience
  • Minimum 5 years experience with light-duty and/or municipal vehicles and equipment
  • Valid Ontario Class G driver's licence with clean driver's abstract
  • Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent
  • Strong technical knowledge in diagnostics, electrical systems, computer-based diagnostics, hydraulics, and welding

Position Details

Full-time contract position (12 months)
Location: King Township, Ontario
Closing date: June 18, 2026 at 4:30pm
Must work overtime as required and participate in on-call rotation on alternating weekends November 1 to April 15
Physically able to climb, kneel, bend, walk, lift, and work outdoors in adverse weather
