Full-time Operator Class 2 position with the Town of Bracebridge Public Works Department, responsible for year-round road maintenance, winter operations, equipment operation, and infrastructure repairs. Reports to the Public Works Foreperson.
Key Responsibilities
Perform road maintenance, construction, and infrastructure repairs including winter patrol, sanding, salting, snow plowing, and pot hole repair
Operate various equipment including plow trucks, front-end loaders, sidewalk plows, chainsaws, and associated winter maintenance equipment
Perform tree removal, tree limbing, roadside brushing, and vegetation removal as required
Monitor road conditions and conduct call-outs for roadway maintenance when required
Maintain assigned equipment through greasing, cleaning, minor repairs, and service; lead crew in safe working operations
Qualifications
Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent
Minimum two years' experience in winter sand/salt, snowplow, snow removal, and road/roadside maintenance operations
Good working knowledge of Ontario Minimum Maintenance Standards for Municipal Highways, Occupational Health and Safety Act, MTO Traffic Control (Book 7), and WHMIS 2015
Valid Class D Ontario Driver's License with Z air brake endorsement in good standing
Demonstrated experience operating propane torch kits; basic Microsoft Office knowledge
