About this Role
Permanent full-time manager reporting to the Director of Public Works, responsible for leading Parks Services staff and overseeing the delivery of parks and recreational services, including operational planning, budgeting, and stakeholder engagement for the City of Fort Saskatchewan.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and manage annual work plans, operating and capital budgets, financial reporting, and long-term asset lifecycle replacement plans
Review and improve operational processes, maintenance procedures, emergency response plans, and engineering standards
Provide leadership, direction, and oversight to staff through recruitment, training, coaching, and performance management
Promote and maintain health and safety culture by ensuring compliance with legislation and City policies
Oversee operational services delivery and manage service contracts, site inspections, and Construction/Final Acceptance Certificate processes
Qualifications
Minimum diploma from recognized post-secondary institution in a related field
Minimum five years directly related experience managing parks, cemeteries, and recreational facilities, preferably in municipal or government environment
Demonstrated supervisory and leadership experience with knowledge of collective agreements
Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills
Proficiency with computerized maintenance management systems, performance management and financial budgeting software, and Microsoft Office Suite (SharePoint, Project, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access, Excel, Word)
