Full-time Roads Operator position with the Township of Wilmot performing maintenance and winter operations on municipal roads and equipment. Role includes snow removal, ice control, equipment operation, and emergency response, with seasonal hour variations and occasional after-hours callouts.
Key Responsibilities
Operate light and heavy vehicles including dump trucks with plow/wing units and material spreaders for winter maintenance
Install, remove, and repair snowplow equipment including blades, harnesses, and spreaders
Perform road maintenance tasks: grading, patching, culvert thawing, sign maintenance, tree cutting, grass trimming, debris removal, and catch basin repairs
Conduct winter operations including snow plowing, sanding, salting, and respond to emergency callouts outside normal hours
Inspect roadways and vehicles before use; maintain daily inspection logs and perform routine equipment maintenance
Qualifications
Ontario Secondary School Diploma or Ontario High School Equivalency Certificate
Minimum 3 years' experience in a related environment
Training and experience with Traffic Control Book 7, propane handling, and chainsaw operation
Valid DZ driver's license and good driving record
Clean Criminal Record Check required upon hire
