Key Responsibilities
Supervise part-time Learn to Skate and Hockey Instructors during preschool, child/youth and adult programs
Demonstrate, instruct and lead participants through skating and hockey skills; develop progressive lesson plans
Provide performance feedback, direction and guidance to part-time staff; assign roles and duties
Monitor participants for risks/hazards, respond to emergencies, provide first aid, and educate on safety
Maintain accurate attendance records, collect instructor worksheets, complete incident reports, and enforce City policies
Qualifications
Minimum one year of Community College
National Coaching Certification Program Certification related to hockey or figure skating
Intermediate/Standard First Aid/CPR 'C' qualifications
Two to three years experience instructing/coaching in learn to skate or hockey programs
Five years participating in skating and/or hockey; wear CSA approved hockey helmet
