About this Role

Temporary part-time instructor to plan, organize, and lead recreational skating and hockey programs for preschool, child/youth, and adult participants. Reports to the Program Coordinator and supervises on-ice instruction and skill development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop progressive lesson plans tailored to group abilities
  • Demonstrate, instruct, and lead participants through skating and hockey-specific skills
  • Detect and correct participant errors to enhance skill and enjoyment
  • Supervise, evaluate participant progress, and maintain attendance records
  • Ensure ice surface safety, prepare/organize equipment, and perform safety checks before use

Qualifications

  • Minimum grade 12 education
  • Intermediate/Standard First Aid & CPR C Certification
  • 5 years' experience participating in skating and/or hockey
  • 1 year experience instructing or coaching in learn to skate or hockey programs
  • Must wear CSA-approved hockey helmet with full face mask for hockey skills instruction
