Professional management position reporting to the Manager of Public Works, responsible for leadership and delivery of municipal public works services, strategic infrastructure maintenance and improvements, and oversight of engineering and capital projects.
Key Responsibilities
Lead planning, design and delivery of the City's annual capital works program
Oversee functional, preliminary and detailed engineering design reviews
Prepare and administer Requests for Proposals, tenders and engineering contracts
Lead transportation engineering initiatives including traffic studies, road safety reviews and active transportation
Manage engineering consultants and supervise field superintendents, junior engineers and works staff
Qualifications
Civil Engineering degree from a recognized college or university or demonstrated equivalent work experience
Minimum six (6) years of progressive management experience, preferably in a unionized environment
Minimum four (4) years of progressive supervisory experience in Public Works, preferably in a unionized environment
Full membership (or eligibility) with the Association of Professional Engineers of PEI
Valid driver's license and demonstrated computer proficiency in Microsoft Office software
