Volunteer Firefighter position with Champlain Township Emergency Services. Responds to emergency calls from two fire halls, including fires, accidents, medical assistance, and rescue operations. Requires attending training sessions and being available for emergency response.
Key Responsibilities
Perform firefighting and emergency response duties under supervision of Captains and Director of Fire Services
Respond to fires, vehicle accidents, structural fires, and medical emergencies
Respond to water rescue, hazardous materials, carbon monoxide events, and transportation incidents
Participate in mandatory training, drills, and optional training sessions
Provide community assistance and respond to outdoor fires
Qualifications
18 years of age or older and bilingual
Resident of Champlain
High school diploma or equivalent
Valid Ontario Class G driver's license with good driving record
Excellent communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, and ability to stay calm during crisis
