The City of Charlottetown seeks an experienced Chief of Fire to lead the Fire Department and Emergency Measures Organization, providing strategic leadership in emergency response, fire prevention, public education, and emergency preparedness. Key Responsibilities
Lead and inspire career firefighters and departmental staff
Develop and implement strategic plans for emergency response and public safety
Direct fire suppression, fire prevention, emergency management, training, inspections, and public education
Oversee departmental operations, budgeting, capital planning, and long-term organizational development
Serve as the city's lead for Emergency Management and coordinate emergency preparedness planning and response
Qualifications
Extensive senior leadership experience within a fire service environment
Integrity, sound judgment, and calm decision-making
Ability to build strong teams and foster positive labour-management relationships
Effective communication with elected officials, employees, community partners, and the public
Commitment to innovation, continuous improvement, and developing future leaders
