On-call seasonal contract equipment operator for King Township responsible for winter road maintenance, snow clearing, and equipment operation. Reports to supervisors in urban and rural maintenance.
Key Responsibilities
Operate vehicles and equipment for winter road maintenance
Perform snow clearing, removal, and material spreading
Operate rubber tired backhoe, wheel loader, plow/dump truck, pickup truck with snowplow/salter, and chainsaws
Perform minor maintenance on Public Works trucks and equipment
Perform general maintenance work and heavy manual labour as required
Qualifications
OSSD or equivalent
Minimum two years winter maintenance experience with 5 Tonne Plow-wing combination unit operation, preferably municipal
Valid class A or D driver's licence with airbrake Z endorsement
Knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety Act, WHMIS, Working at Heights, O.Reg. 555/06, O.Reg. 239/02, and O.Reg. 199/07
Ability to operate heavy equipment used in winter maintenance
