Seasonal contract equipment operator responsible for winter road maintenance, including snow clearing, material spreading, and equipment operation. Reports to Supervisors of Urban Maintenance and Fleet and Rural Maintenance and Drainage.
Key Responsibilities
Operates vehicles and equipment for winter road maintenance
Performs snow clearing, removal, and material spreading
Operates rubber tired backhoe, wheel loader, plow/dump truck, pick-up truck with snowplow/salter, and chainsaws
Performs minor maintenance on Public Works trucks and equipment
Performs general maintenance work and heavy manual labour as required
Qualifications
OSSD or equivalent
Minimum 2 years winter maintenance experience with 5 Tonne Plow-wing combination unit, preferably municipal
Valid class A or D driver's licence with airbrake Z endorsement
Knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety Act, WHMIS, Working at Heights, and relevant Ontario regulations
First Aid/CPR certification
