About this Role
The Village of Salmo seeks a Level II Wastewater Treatment Facility Operator & Public Works Equipment Operator to inspect and maintain wastewater, water, and collection systems, perform equipment operation and manual labour, and support municipal infrastructure projects. The role requires afterhours on-call availability and weekend/statutory holiday coverage.
Key Responsibilities
Inspection of wastewater treatment, collection, and water distribution systems
Ensure proper operations and manage data collection
Complete reporting requirements
Operate equipment and perform manual labour
Respond to afterhours SCADA trouble calls and emergency requests
Qualifications
Valid EOCP Wastewater Treatment Level II (or Level I with ability to reach Level II within one year) or inter-provincial equivalent
BCWWA-Certified Backflow Assembly Tester
Minimum 4 years wastewater utility experience or equivalent combination
Familiarity with Microsoft Windows, Excel, Word, databases, and SCADA Control Systems
Valid Class 5 BC Driver's Licence and clear driving record
