Key Responsibilities
Manage, plan, direct and coordinate all City capital, operating and financial management reporting activities
Oversee and provide leadership to a team of professional and clerical subordinates
Maintain and enforce proper governance of the City's tangible capital asset registry and associated master data
Direct period and year-end schedules, reporting and financial statements
Work with City departments to develop strategic management plans and monitor budget transactions
Qualifications
Degree in Business, Commerce, or related field plus Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation
Minimum 5 years of budgeting/financial planning experience at management level, preferably in municipal government
Responsibility for minimum annual capital plan of preferably at least $100 million and annual operating budget of preferably at least $10 million
Thorough knowledge of Canadian Public Sector Accounting Board (PSAB) standards, Community Charter, and Local Government Act
Knowledge of SAP financial modules (FI, CO, FM, PS, PM, AA) and SAP reporting tools
