Provides general administrative support and custodial monitoring of information within police reporting and intelligence systems (P.R.O.S., C.P.I.C., A.C.I.I.S., i2) for Charlottetown Police Services. Reports to the Chief of Police through the Coordinator of Telecommunications.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor occurrence reports in P.R.O.S., verify accuracy, and correct information as required
Merge, correct, delete, cancel, and change criminal intelligence information for consistency and accuracy
Input, query, and browse Police Information Retrieval System (PIRS)
Ensure CPIC information is updated and accurate; maintain filing systems
Respond to insurance company inquiries on motor vehicle accident reports; provide general clerical support
Qualifications
Grade 12 or equivalent
Two (2) years of relevant post-secondary course work from a recognized Administrative or Information Technology training program
Advanced Microsoft Office skills and typing with advanced word processing features
Ability to interpret and apply criminal law, provincial laws, municipal bylaws, and department policy
Excellent judgment and ability to handle sensitive and confidential data with discretion
