Part-time student recreation staff position reporting to the Recreation and Culture Coordinator, responsible for supervising and facilitating recreation and culture programming and events at multiple Scugog facilities from September 2026 to June 2027.
Key Responsibilities
Demonstrate superior customer service and communication skills with public, participants, parents, and staff
Ensure safety, enjoyment, and care of participants
Facilitate recreation programs including learn to skate, dance, sport, gymnastics, art, leadership and general activities
Supervise, monitor capacities, and take admissions for drop-in recreation programs
Set up, take down, and clean program areas; report incidents and complete required paperwork
Qualifications
At least 15 years old and enrolled in high school or post-secondary education
Ability to work shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Intermediate First Aid/CPR 'C' certification (current)
Experience working or volunteering with children aged 2 to 12 years
High Five Principles of Healthy Childhood Development or willing to obtain; ice skating ability considered an asset
