Temporary full-time Registered Nurse position focused on Infection Prevention & Control at Strathmere Lodge. The IPAC Lead identifies, investigates, and monitors healthcare-associated infections while developing and sustaining infection prevention strategies in collaboration with clinical and support teams.
Key Responsibilities
Identify, investigate, monitor, and report healthcare-associated infections
Develop and implement infection prevention and control strategies, policies, and procedures
Collaborate with teams to provide feedback and sustain IPAC programs
Work with Director of Resident Care, Assistant Director, Attending Physicians, and auxiliary personnel
Maintain confidentiality and resident privacy
Qualifications
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) or equivalent education and experience
Current registration as Registered Nurse with College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO)
3 years' experience in geriatric or long-term care facility, preferably in IPAC role
IPAC Canada approved Infection Control course completion or willingness to obtain within 1 year
Certification in Infection Prevention and Control from Certification Board of Infection Control and Epidemiology
