Supervisory, administrative and technical role coordinating Parks Operations staff work including clerical, project coordination, operational and fleet management duties. Incumbent plans, assigns, supervises and evaluates staff performance; manages budgets; analyzes operational proposals; reviews landscape design drawings; and develops asset management plans.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plans, assigns, supervises and reviews work of clerical, project coordination, operational and fleet management staff
  • Trains staff, evaluates performance and monitors attendance issues
  • Prepares operating budget and provides input into capital budget
  • Reviews, interprets and analyzes landscape design drawings and conducts design meetings
  • Develops asset management plans to support long-range planning and infrastructure replacement

Qualifications

  • University degree in Parks Management, Landscape Architecture, Horticulture, Business Administration, Engineering, Planning, Asset Management, Public Administration, or related discipline supplemented with business administration courses and considerable related experience
  • Supervisory experience or equivalent combination of education, training and experience
  • Considerable knowledge of construction costs, materials, practices and procedures for park design and development
  • Knowledge of asset management principles, practices and procedures
  • Valid class 5 Driver's Licence for the Province of British Columbia

At a glance

Regular Full Time
Schedule: 80 hours bi-weekly; Monday to Friday 7:30 AM – 3:30 PM (mutual agreement 6:30 AM – 3:30 PM)
Subject to Note 'Y' of Schedule 'B' of CUPE 23 Inside Division Collective Agreement
Closing date: August 4, 2026
Location: Burnaby, British Columbia
