About this Role

The City of Burnaby seeks auxiliary Tai Chi/Qi Gong Instructors to plan and lead classes for diverse participants including older adults and individuals in rehabilitation, promoting physical and mental well-being through safe and inclusive instruction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and lead Tai Chi and Qi Gong classes for diverse participant groups
  • Develop and deliver safe, inclusive, and engaging programs
  • Adapt instruction to suit varying abilities and experience levels
  • Support participants' physical and mental well-being
  • Perform other related work as required

Qualifications

  • Certification and/or formal training in Tai Chi and/or Qi Gong instruction from a recognized provider
  • Current Emergency First Aid & CPR/AED certification
  • Experience working with a variety of populations (considered an asset)
  • Ability to create a supportive and welcoming learning environment

Position Details

Auxiliary contract position with no guaranteed hours
Hours and shifts based on operational requirements
Typical shifts: 2 hours in duration
May include on-call shifts
Scheduled any day of the week in accordance with Recreation Centre operating hours
