Lead the daily maintenance and operation of roads, drainage, and stormwater infrastructure for the City of Beaumont. Report to the Manager, Parks & Roads Operations and provide leadership to staff, coordinate contractors, oversee service delivery, and respond to emergencies.
Key Responsibilities
Plan, schedule, assign, and monitor daily roads and drainage operations including roads, trails, sidewalks, signage, line painting, stormwater, and drainage infrastructure
Lead, coach, train, and support staff while coordinating contractors, equipment, materials, and resources
Conduct field inspections and provide technical advice on road, drainage, stormwater, and infrastructure maintenance and construction
Investigate and respond to service requests from residents, contractors, and internal departments
Monitor weather conditions and coordinate staffing, equipment, and contractors during winter operations and emergencies; coordinate cemetery maintenance and burial operations
Qualifications
Minimum 4 years of municipal experience related to infrastructure, roads, drainage, transportation, or related field
Minimum 2 years of post-secondary education in civil engineering technology, municipal construction, public works, or related discipline (equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered)
Previous supervisory, team leadership, or operational leadership experience
Class 3 Driver's Licence with Q endorsement; clean Driver's Abstract; clean Criminal Records Check
Standard Level C First Aid & CPR; WHMIS; experience operating heavy equipment (loaders, graders, backhoes, skid steers, excavators); knowledge of municipal roads, stormwater infrastructure, drainage systems, and Alberta Occupational Health & Safety legislation
