About this Role

Temporary part-time Fitness Centre Monitor/Personal Trainer reporting to the Program Coordinator. Responsibilities include maintaining a safe and clean fitness centre, providing personal training services, conducting equipment orientations, and delivering customer service to members and drop-in patrons.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor fitness centre, return equipment to proper place, track usage/attendance, and enforce time limits during peak hours
  • Regularly inspect and clean equipment including cardio machines, weight training equipment, and mats; complete daily maintenance checklists
  • Develop, implement, monitor and progress personal training programs for clients; perform fitness appraisals according to CSEP protocols
  • Provide customer service: greet users, assist with equipment use and proper technique, provide orientations, outline personal training services and memberships
  • Administer first aid and CPR 'C' when required; ensure users follow fitness centre rules and guidelines; assist instructors with class setup/takedown and attendance recording

Qualifications

  • Minimum Grade 12 education
  • Personal Trainer Specialist certification (e.g. canfitpro®, OFC)
  • One year of previous experience in a fitness centre or customer service environment
  • Standard First Aid/CPR 'C' certification (must keep current)
  • Good customer service and communication skills; ability to work shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays
