Temporary full-time skilled labourer position in the Public Works Department reporting to a supervisor. Role involves manual labour duties across concrete work, sewer maintenance, waste collection, traffic control, and winter maintenance, working Monday to Friday on rotating shifts.
Key Responsibilities
Perform manual labour on concrete crew, sewer crew, and waste collection vehicle operations
Assist with routine flushing and cleaning catch basins, repair manholes and catch basins
Clear debris from roadways, apply cold patch to roads, set up traffic control measures, and fix or replace traffic signs
Perform Winter Control Maintenance duties including road plowing and sidewalk plowing
Help mechanics, paint and clean equipment, wash and fuel equipment, and perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Must be able to work in all weather conditions
Class DZ Ontario Driver's License in good standing
Must have or be willing to obtain Standard First Aid and CPR training
Must be able to attend mandatory Orientation Training
Minimum Grade 10 or equivalent
